Artist C. Brantley was born in 1955 in North Carolina. He graduated from Wake-Forest University where he studied creative writing under Maya Angelou and Archie Ammons. During this time he was lucky to meet important cultural figures such as Jacob Lawrence, Romare Bearden, August Wilson, and James Baldwin, Each of them has influenced his work. After attending Film School in North Carolina, Robinson moved to Brooklyn, New York, where he has devoted his spare time to making art, while working in restaurants to pay the rent.
